- What is Masonry?
Masonry can not be defined in a one-line definition. It is experientail in nature.
Masonry is a system of morality, veiled in allegory, and illustrated through symbols. Or more simply stated, Masonry is "a society of gentlemen concerned with moral and spirtual values, and one of the world's oldest and most popular fraternal organizations." - (Christoper Hodapp. Freemasons for Dummies. pg 13. - Who are Bothell Masons?
Bothell Masons are men of the surrounding area who wish to enrich the greater area community by providing a local fraternal organization which supports youth scholarship, charitable activities, and those less fortunate; and to promote fellowship among its members.
- How do I become a Mason?
Masons do not solicit membership into their Fraternity. To be a Mason, you must ask a Mason. It is that simple. Once you ask the question, “What is a Freemason?” or “How do I become a Mason?” the process is started. The basic process of becoming a Mason and the basic tenets of Freemasonry will be explained to you.
There are some prerequisites to becoming a Mason.
A candidate must:
- Be at least eighteen years of age
- Believe in a Supreme Being
If you wish to become a member of Ashler Lodge, contact one of the Brothers on the Contact page or call the Lodge at 425-486-1693 and leave a message. A representative of the Lodge will return your call. If you wish to pursue becoming a Mason, you will be given a petition to complete and return to the Lodge. An initiation fee must accompany your completed petition. |
