Trestleboard           ASHLER LODGE          MAY 2013

Greetings from the East,

Wow what a Month! We have done a Third Degree and are scheduled for an EA degree on May 9th. The Third degree went very well and I am sure the EA degree will go just a smoothly. I must admit I would like to see some more Brothers coming to these events. I know we have had a lot going on, and I have been asking a lot of the Brethren, but I do this for a reason. I still remember the day I was initiated as an EA. I was impressed by a number of things, the ceremony the proficiency in the ritual, but what impressed me most was the number of men (Brother now) who did not know me but who thought it was important enough to give up a Saturday to come and help or just watch this important event in my life. I am still impressed that Bro. David Burn showed up for all three of my degrees and he wasn’t even a member of Ashler Lodge. Please look at the Lodge schedule and your schedule and see if you can make it to one of the upcoming degrees. I would consider it a personal favor.

It is not just degree work we have coming up. We have family game night on May 18th. It will be a pot luck affair. Please bring snacks and games. I have invited the youth groups and think it will be a lot of fun. We have had to change the date of our campout to Granite Falls. If spending a weekend camping with the Brothers and families sounds good to you, please contact me so that we can find a date that will accommodate the most people.

Please set aside Saturday August 18th for a night of Aquasox Baseball. This date was TBA when my calendar went out, but I think it is going to work the best.

One last reminder, you may have noticed a change in the format of the Trestleboard. This is because we are going electronic now. If you received this in paper form and would like to receive it as an e-mail please let me know. We

save about fifteen dollars a year per person sending it out electronically and that money does add up. I understand that there are some Brothers who do not care for e-mail and we will continue sending a paper copy to those Brothers who prefer paper. Send your request to have the Trestelboard e-mailed to: gary@mc-pherson.com

During our May meeting the DeMolay will be helping out with a Memorial Day service lead by WB Ronald Swasey. Please join us.

Greetings from the West,

Another fantastic meeting with 30+ brothers in attendance from various lodges. We are doing quite a bit of degree work this year and it would be great to see more of you there as participants or sideliners to help us move our

brothers through the degrees. For those of you that were there on April 27th for Brother Bob Guild’s third degree, wages must be paid for taking the time out of your schedule for this and for doing such an outstanding job. Congratulations, Brother Bob, welcome to the esteemed degree of a Master Mason and we look forward to your posting lecture.

Greetings from the South,

It has been a busy month so far and we are still going. We have so many things going on it sure makes it fun to be a Mason. I have lost count of the amount of degrees we have conferred and are still going. I want to thank all you brothers who have helped with the so many positions needed. It is fun to see how we are growing and getting better. If you are interested in helping there are always a need, just contact Brothers Brian, Kevin or myself. Come join the great times. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
